Lilly Lion is a lion and a filmmaker based in LA, by way of Portland, Oregon. She was raised in a small town in Southern Oregon known for it’s Shakespeare Festival and friendly deer.

Her short films have screened at festivals around the world, including Tallgrass Film Festival, HollyShorts, and Hell’s Half Mile Film & Music Festival. Her first short, In This Neighborhood (2022), recently won best PNW Short Film at the Tacoma Film Festival. She’s interested in telling stories about class divide, the male gaze, and how female sexuality and self-image can be informed by both.

Lion was a Women in Film scholarship recipient at the American Film Institute Conservatory, where she recently graduated with an MFA in Directing. She holds a BA from University of Oregon in French and Cinema Studies.
